School Uniforms

As an International Baccalaureate World School, we value community. Uniforms help support this and are strongly encouraged.

​

What is the Uniform?

Uniforms consist of a RIS-branded polo shirt (in any color) or spirit wear shirt (such as a hoodie, athletic shirt or Turtle Trot shirt) or a RIS-branded dress. Bottoms are optional and include RIS-branded sweatpants or plain khaki or navy-blue pants shorts or skirts.

All students must have a RIS Turtle Trot shirt. A new shirt is designed each year; order forms go home in the spring. (Shirts also may be purchased throughout the year by contacting the main office, (203) 977-4560.) These shirts are worn on field trips and for special events. Polo shirts are typically worn for class or grade-level picture day and performances.

Where to Buy

RIS-branded polos as well as plain khaki and navy pants, shorts, skirts and dresses are available online from French Toast and Lands End (use school number 900133786). RIS also maintains a supply of gently used uniforms that are available to families at no charge. 

​
