Learning to Look

Learning to Look is the PTO's year-long art-appreciation class for fourth graders.! This year-long course is taught by parent volunteers and culminates in a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Students are encouraged to use the "elements of art" (color, line, shape, texture) to observe and interpret artwork. Hands-on art projects reinforce concepts.
We need fourth grade parents from each homeroom to teach these sessions. This is always one of our most sought-after volunteer opportunities and is a great way to interact with your student's class. The sessions are about once a month on Friday afternoons, (2:30 to 3:15) October through April.
No art history experience is necessary!
We provide training and all the materials you need. To volunteer or learn more, email us at L2L@rispto.org.
